I’m
a huge fan of your books. They are amazing! I stumbled upon your wonderful
books after I saw “Love Never Dies” at a theater in London. I
was disappointed at the end of the play…the sequel doesn’t do
the Phantom and the original story any justice. So I searched for sequels
online. In my heart I always felt Erik was the one that deserved Christine’s
love. Feeling quite dismal I found your book on Amazon which also had a preview
I could read on Google books. I totally fell in love with your books. I read
the first in a week and couldn’t put the next two down. Your books are
so wonderful. They were exactly what I was looking for. Please put me on your
email list!

At
last; my signed books arrived yesterday! Again I must say thanks, especially
for the bookmarks along with the books (they will be my treasures) sounds
as though I don't have a life huh? No, (your works) just thrill my senses,
alas, this (book signing) is done. My sad, I may find another reason to chat
with you some day. All good things to you and your future endeavors with our
Phantom.

Greetings
again. I just finished book three of the Phantom series - devoured them all
within a weeks time! I was wondering if there is an anticipated release date
for number four? I'm completely hooked on the roller coaster ride that you
depict in these tales.
Sincerely, Jennifer

I
found your first book on Amazon and each book lead to the next. I love the
touch of super natural in your books. Jumping into the realm of science fiction
as you did in the last book is even better. Please complete your series. I
do like these books and I would hate to be left hanging. Thank you for taking
the time to write these books

Yesterday
I finished your 3rd book, I really enjoyed your story and I can't wait for
the next one! Hopefully you plan to write many more. I'm addicted! I felt

Very, very smart!

I
really enjoyed reading this book, can’t begin to tell you how cool I
think it is. You’ve got a solid grip on this business of Erik’s
evolution. I so understand why he left the chateau, as most of his remembered
past and his recent injuries were weighing on him. What happens next is eating
at me, but I’m going to be patient and WAIT. (Tapping fingers on the
table like Christine.) What choice is there? Ha. I’m so looking forward
to reading number four…hint, hint.

I
just finished The Tale of the Bloodline this evening. I loved it! Isidore
and his laboratory of the "brave new world" show not only the marvels
of science, but the danger of crossing certain barriers in the name of progress.
The scenes that took place in Persia and the flashback to Erik's "closure"
with his mother were fascinating and filled in many missing details in his
life. I couldn't believe poor Erik's bad luck to lose his longed-for perfect
face after falling into the pit. I can't wait to learn more about Torossian
and what happens next as Erik and Christine continue on in the 21st century.

Can’t
wait for the fourth book! Love the title of the fifth novel, The Theater of
the Lost, sounds awesome. Your books will always be appreciated by me. I tried
to write and have an idea what it takes to produce whole novels that hold
the reader’s interest. I failed, but am thinking of giving it another
go.

In
The Tale of the Bloodline, Erik now finds himself in the 21st century. Here,
he is a handsome, wealthy young man, the heir to the de Chagny estate. His
father, Isidore de Chagny, is a renowned scientist. However, all is not as
it seems. Isisdore is a reclusive man with many secrets, and Erik is haunted
by dreams of the past. Although the story takes place in the present day,
through fascinating flashbacks we are given much more information about the
time that Erik spent with the Daroga in Persia. Isidore
and his laboratory illustrate not only the wonders of modern science, but
the danger of crossing certain barriers in the name of progress, and the ethical
dilemmas that result. All
in all, it is a splendid book. I look forward to reading the next installment
of the story!

DISCOURSE
WITH A PERSON WHO ORDERED ALL THREE NOVELS
Referencing the question: How did you discover my books?
ANSWER:
Well, firstly, I am a fan of the character - the Phantom - and didn't feel
quite fulfilled at the end of The Phantom of the Opera. I mean, what
a character! I had so many questions. I could have just invented his story
in my head, but I would have taken too many easy routes to a happy ending.
I kind of like not having control over what happens to the character. :) So,
I did a Wikipedia search of The Phantom of the Opera, and here's
a long list of "adaptations." I scanned the titles under "literature,"
and there were three books written by you that actually picked up on the original
story. But I was skeptical, so I found your books on Googlebooks which allowed
me to read some pages from the actual books. I couldn't stop reading! And
I was so distraught when the sample pages ended - I knew I had to read it
all. I really enjoy the writing style - and the juicy bits. ;) I can't wait
until the books arrive!
Frances, in New England
SIX
DAYS LATER:
I received the books today! :) Thank you so much.

Erik
in the pit of razor wire intrigued me a ton! What this story made me feel!
I loved the book and I can't wait until the fourth. Regardless of what you
write / what genre, I'm always going to buy them. I just love the way you
spin a tale, it's so intelligent and well thought out. I loved the fact that
Erik sang to Christine while she was in the tank because it was kind of how
they were in the Opera House, Erik singing to her in her "dreams".

He
lives…This author is an amazing man, if that is what he is. I cannot
find him anywhere. But no matter, this is a story to top them all. Any one
who can bring the Phantom back to me in such a truly glorious manner is worthy
of praise...You will love the whole concept of what is done, I have read it
twice now. Think of it this way, Erik and the Phantom together as never before.
And of course Christine!

Wonderful
Work of Art!!!! This book is amazing. The third in a series about the infamous
Phantom of the Opera, Erik. It's a sci-fi thriller that keeps the reader captivated
throughout. The love scenes and excitement are totally worth reading the first
two books to savor the third. The author has a unique way of writing about
Erik, like he/she is digging in Erik's mind. The scenes mentioned in the book
keep the reader on the edge of their seat, what is going to happen next? This
book is totally, definently worth reading regardless of what kind of fan you
are. It appeals to those who like romance, science-fiction, drama, anything
and everything. Awesome book! PLEASE KEEP WRITING!

ordering the first two books. Now the hard part, waiting patiently for them
to get here! The signed TheTale of the Bloodline came in yesterday's

have my own personalized copies. (Did give my girlfriend back her set, she

there was a medical reason for what happened between Michael and Sarah in

didn't recognize you writing that book. And, you certainly do have a way with
those sex and love scenes! Wow!! Your website certainly has expanded...with

I
am almost finished reading The Tale of the Bloodline and am enjoying it very
much. As soon as I finish I’m going to start reading straight through
from the first book. Thanks so much for signing them! I was amazed at how
rapidly you got my little treasures back to me! I hope that by the fifth book
Erik can regain his sense of humor, even as strange/twisted as it was…and
the same for Christine. I do understand why they are serious toward each other
in the latest novel. I would be too if I found my one truelove after 100+
years. And for now they are still quite young again. We’ve all been
there and done that. Our teenage years were so very serious, even though the
adults laughed and did not take us seriously. By the way, do you date?

Five
star ratings for your Tale of the Bloodline! You really held my interest
with this story. Excellent news that writing another novel is still a viable

me that Erik is the only lover Christine will ever know in this lifetime.

It’s
amazing that you are actually willing to communicate with the people who read
your books. That alone makes you a precious commodity among the authors of
the world. What a blessing for Erik to be reborn in the twenty-first century.
His ideation may not always fit in with these modern times, but he’s
sharp, he’ll learn fast. Loved the pictures on the front and the back
covers.

What
an excellent story: so insightful, creepy, and at times hysterically funny.
I could picture the scenes as I read them. I loved the spiraling plot. Several
times I cringed and several times I chuckled. You use words as one would a
paintbrush, and they all fit together so well. The colors are vivid. Certainly
Leroux would have been most happy to pass on his mantle to you had he been
able to read these tales.

Thank

How
well you show us Erik, the lovesick ghoul with the mad passion bursting forth,
the comic prankster, the insightful genius. Thank you. What a remarkable achievement
you have managed! You overcame the hassles of the publisher’s production
team and I’m so glad. This third segment of these stories resonates
with heart! You made that big jump into modern times with such plausible genuinely-doable
scientific reasons. I had a sneaky suspicion you’d pull this off.

That
was so AWESOME! I actually got dizzy when Erik slipped into the pit!!! Never

Stop
saying this book is a “poor little orphaned thing”! I too wish

This
book is a treasure! The story is fantastic, amazing. Twice this book actually
made me giddy. First, when Erik fell into the pit. Second, when we discover
that Khalil has traveled through with him. What a surprise about Torossian,
though I should have picked up on the depth of the bond. I’m so glad
that Christine remains important to Erik (what a bummer that he left for awhile),
but what glorious love scenes you write! Yum. I don’t know that anyone
else equals them.

I
am reading this latest book. A plus! You tied in the history so well, and

Your
stories never bore me! You have such great dramatic flare (along with that

Hard
to actually pick my favorite scene, there's just so many I like. The book
is really good! It's mesmerizing. I was constantly interested to see what
would happen next. When I got to the point where Erik was learning the ways
of the Punjab lasso and making a cat noise to scare that couple, I wanted
to cheer. How he caught them was such a really cool work of art. There are
just so many interesting moments so far and I'm barely halfway through! Can’t
wait to finish this book.

About
the art gallery, those are very cool pictures. The top one is especially freaky.
Of course I'm guessing that Torossian, from the description of him in the
book, is supposed to be a quite a bit freaky. Also, very brave of you to hit
matricide head on, some women were never meant to be mothers - mine for sure.
Bravo, I so applaud your work.

So
glad you got this book birthed into the world. This story has some very grim
scenes and some contrasting very funny parts (the panty raid for one. That
scene was really funny. I could so see young Erik doing that.) You must sleep
with your mind’s eye writing. I enjoy your plots so much; they are never
a disappointment. You confront some really horrendous issues and opened my
eyes about the legal rights of clones. Also, please thank the Webmaster for

In
a very subtle way, your books discuss the very precious need for tolerance
among the people of the world, and I so agree with you. So many think that
tolerance is a sign of weakness, or they just can't be bothered to be tolerant
because it's "too much of an effort". What shallow, emptiness. Although,
in looking back, I can understand why Erik found it almost impossible to be
tolerant. I mean, look at how he was treated. It would be enough to severely
anger anybody; and to be unaccepted / unloved / uncared for / unwanted for
his entire life would have been totally heart-shattering. I can imagine his
take on tolerance being, "Ha! Why should I tolerate people? They have
NEVER tolerated me!”

I
want to congratulate you again for releasing the book. I really do - you know

Torossian
is a pretty interesting character. I half-wondered if Christine would have
a leftover twin. Didn’t appear to happen since she was in the tank by
herself. When Christine came out of the tank and Erik came in to meet her
at breakfast and Dillard interfered, I actually Grrred at Dillard.
I really like this story; it's stranger, more like sci-fi. I really loved
the medical aspect of it. I had a feeling the character named Kathryn would
not stay as loyal as I thought she would be. Erik mentally pulling back into
Persia and going into an arena was absolutely fascinating. All through the
story I kept wondering how things were going to play out.

You’re
writing is clear and understandable, not way over my head. I totally get what
you are saying. The story poured into my mind like a flood. I swam in the
swirling eddies of the pool right alongside Erik. You laid the foundation
for how we got to this point with such inventive twists and spins. I simply
caught the ride and held onto the information you gave the reader. I couldn’t
wait to get deeper and deeper into what was actually going on in his life.
It was so interesting and a little upsetting, as this Erik is just as unpredictable
as ever. I even understood how Isidore could claim to be his father! And even
though the year was 2012, I felt like was there with them all. Wrestling with
each new dilemma. Mixed up, trying to make the right choices. Your honesty
made this a very comfortable and knowledgeable read. I truly enjoyed it. And
now Erik has gone off to connect the two lives - the past with the present.
How will Christine find him? Will she even have to? He loves her so much.

I
arrived home at 8:15 pm tonight to find my book had finally been delivered.
When I put the brown covered parcel down on the table I stared, tried to open

“I’ll open it for you, Nan. It’s Etienne’s book isn’t
it?” “Yes”’, I said. I’ll leave you with that
because I am just so excited to have it, and I wanted you to know how I felt.

it’s nothing like real life. It’s an incredible journey. Not disappointing

Sorry
that it took such a knock down, drag out fight to get the text and cover right
with the publisher. How frustrating that people paid to perform a service
want to mess with things. I have to tell you that I like the turn your books
have taken, this one seems more science-fiction/thriller/drama. You are so
clever. It’s so interesting finding out where Erik is going and how
he learns to cope with his visions. Oh, and I am not lending this book out
until I’ve read it a second time, just like I did with Breaking Dawn.
I have even read parts of this one aloud! The events seem so real! It’s
like my mind takes pictures of what you describe. (Coming off the mountain,
locked in a cage, I felt my hands and knees get scraped on the rough floorboards!
And how inventive is Erik, to use his time in the dungeons so well!)

As
usual, your words are expertly written and precise, down to all your crossed
t’s and the dotted i’s. I can’t help but feel that you have
been what you write and you write to make me, the reader, feel what you feel.
I have to read this slowly. I have to take everything in. I can’t allow
myself to miss a detail. If I do, I have to read it over again. This story
is definitely different and I feel like I am going to be on a long, narrow,
but smooth ride all the way. You are doing it again. I am taking Erik into
my life again and it has been such a long time. Right now, I am a little jealous
that he has been away so long. I have been starved for lack of reading about
him. These are my honest feelings. I feel ready and calm and will continue
to read, desperate for more information.

amazing scenes and I’m having difficulty deciding which one I like best.
There are just so many interesting moments, and I’m barely halfway through.
I’m where Erik is learning the ways of the Punjab lasso and making a
cat noise to scare that couple meeting secretly in the garden cabinet. It’s
so really cool. I have no idea what’s about to happen. I wish I could
see the Arabian horses you describe, they must be magnificent. Imagine a parade
of them set to Persian music! How wild!

All
the anticipation and waiting for this book was worth it! I made sure that
no one bothered me when I read it. I love this book! I ordered the hard cover
edition, and it’s still here in my hands. I’ve zipped through
its pages, absorbing all I could on the first read threw. I didn’t want
it to end! It is exceptionally poignant and definitely different from other
Phantom literature. The plot is exciting and left me even more curious than
when I started. What happens from here? We are standing in a room of mirrors,
each section of the panels can open as a doorway. Which one do we open next?
The choice is in the hands of this amazing author.

Stayed up all night
reading this book, it's got to be the best one yet. Oh my gosh, please don't
leave it here. Whatever it takes, carry on.

I was surprised that
you wrote to me. I've know the history from the book of Gaston Leroux, but
for me it was always like...unfinished. You know - I feel regret, not satisfaction
when I finish Leroux’s book. Next was a book of Suzanne Kay, Phantom,
and I was think that will be finish of my adventure with Erik, Christine and
Raoul, and then I find you by accident on Google. But you see - you wrote
your books in such way that for person who's not use your language every day
(as you see English is not my native language - I'm from Poland) those books
is not to hard for reading - thanks for that!) Let me tell you - Gaston Leroux
make a persons, Suzanne Kay give them history - and you give them life! These
are great books. You make them and I'll read them always!

Author’s note:
Write back as you like. I will always try to respond. Several readers are
surprised that I personally answer emails, but if you knew me, you wouldn't
be surprised. You are the only individual I'm corresponding with in Poland.
That makes you very unique. I would like to tell you that I'm glad you found
my books on Google and that you enjoyed reading them. Your English is fine.
I understand it and that you enjoyed my books makes me smile. Trust me, you
are doing much better with English than I would do with Polish. I hope you
enjoy what's going to happen next with Erik in The Tale of the Bloodline.
As you can probably tell, I like exploring both science and the supernatural
arenas in my writing.

I don't need to say
this, but you are such a decent writer...to me and the others who bought the
first two books. At least you've finished two books. I'm still struggling
with one. (chuckles) I bet you were happy to have quiet again. The hermit
returns to his cave, perhaps? You've mentioned many times that you would be
happy to live like that. Yet your busy brain needs to work, all the time.
It's horrible. I know. Like physically, being dragged behind a Ferrari while
wearing roller blades -- you're screwed if you fall over. Whether or not you
believe it will not change the fact that there are people who believe in you
and your writing. You can remain convinced that you are no writer and are
unfit to polish the boots of Charles Dickens, but even the greats started
somewhere. Thanks for all the help you’ve given me with my writing.
I’ll wheel in the cheerleading squad if I have to – beams –
you know I will! You can’t just leave us hanging. Heck, I really want
to know what happens! The Season of the Witch is such an enjoyable
read. After all, if I did not like it, I would not read it again and again,
would I? I just ambled through the game of Turnabout…so funny. I wouldn’t
worry about people liking your work, you haven’t disappointed your fans
thus far!

I am so looking forward
to the third book and going back to Erik’s beginnings. You did great,
in my opinion, on the first two books. I think my favorite so far is the first
one, since it’s about Erik and Christine, and the second was about putting
an end to the saga of the Phantom of the Opera and his family.

Please do let me know
just as soon as you hear the release date...thanking you in advance, your
friend, and faithful reader, waiting for the next book, that doesn't have
a date yet, that I can't buy yet, and definitely can't read yet because I
can't buy it, because I don't have a date...yet. So, let me know just as soon
as you can.

I am a patient person,
have learned to be, but I can hardly wait for your next book. From what I’ve
read from your statements to other readers, this third book is pretty much
going on a different path. I am actually not disappointed that you didn't
continue on the family. Anyone should know, if they think about it, that the
children are bound to have dysfunctional things going on in their lives. Everyone,
if they are honest, has skeletons rattling in their lives that make us all
a little insane at times, but some people can hide them better than others.
Your scenes where the Phantom tries to cope with his disabilities and displays
a great sense of humanity, tenderness, etc. are my favorite.

I just read the information
about The Tale of the Bloodline, and now it's got me going. He no longer has
a ghoulish face? Is it Erik reborn, and who follows after him? This is getting
to sound really good now. How far away are we? Oh yes, you can send me an
advanced copy as a present, a Christmas present. You got to help me here...there
is nothing to read out there.

I want to be infused!
Let’s get hooked up and get the blood flowing! I can’t wait for
this book to be done. This is the one you wanted to publish when you started
all this. All of Etienne de Mendes' books are to me what 'Twilight' is to
other people. I wish we could announce to the world, “Look, look at
Etienne’s books...great books, with an amazingly, powerful author. Don't
waste anymore of your time, read these books!” I can’t say enough.
I so missed reading a new book from you. And you are such a wonderful person
to correspond with a cyberspace fan, you are!

I do have to mention
that I noticed the new cover of 'Bloodline'. A complete picture of our phantom!
Great cover, great drawing and artwork and such a surprise...and, such a great
summary of what your readers are going to have very soon. I can't believe
I can almost grasp the third book in my hand! I look forward so much to reading
this book, since this is the one you wanted to write from the beginning! I'm
on pins and needles. Let me know the moment it hits the runway and is ready
to be shipped.
